Based on the casting call that is open for actors of any ethnicity to audition for the roles, the two new characters could be a mother-son or father-son duo.

AceShowbiz - As casting for "Spider-Man: Homecoming 2" is underway, details of new characters, including a villain, in the movie have emerged. According to The Hashtag Show, Marvel Studios longtime casting director Sarah Finn is looking out for two new characters, in addition to a Bond-girl type femme fatale.

The casting call reveals that Spider-Man's new adversary is described as a villain with "elevated ideas." For the said role, the studio is open for actors from any ethnicity to audition. Male and female actors ages 30-45 can also audition for the part.

They are also searching for an 18-24-year-old male lead of any ethnicity for a high school student. With the broad possibility, it's hard to guess which comic book characters that will be featured in the film. However, the site suggests that these two characters could be a mother-son or father-son duo.

Meanwhile, the femme fatale who will be played by a European actress in her 20s has been linked to Jessica Drew. Growing up in the fictional European country of Transia in the shadow of Mt. Wundagore, Drew acted as an agent of Hydra for some time before becoming an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. and a key player in the Skrull Secret Invasion.

Previously, it was reported that Gwen Stacy would be added to the sequel as videos of several European actresses reading for the part of Peter Parker's love interest leaked online. Should the news be true, the new film franchise or Marvel will set up a love triangle storyline for Peter, although Zendaya Coleman's MJ is not the Mary Jane whom fans have known from the comics.

Filming for the "Spider-Man: Homecoming" sequel is scheduled to begin in June in Atlanta for a July 5, 2019 release in the United States. Jon Watts will once again serve behind the lens with the script written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.

Tom Holland will return as Peter Parker a.k.a. the titular superhero, and Jacob Batalon is set to reprise his role as Peter's best friend Ned.
