AceShowbiz - Kim Kardashian's Vogue India cover for its March issue has sparked major backlash. After the reality TV star unveiled one of the covers on Tuesday, February 27, people on the internet are talking about how the Indian version of the fashion bible should be featuring actual Indian women on its cover.

One Indian social media user claimed, "We have plenty of talented Bollywood actresses that can be on the cover," before adding that the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star "was not needed the other countries that put her on fair play they don't have a big film industry but we do so plz don't let this happen again.(sic)"

"did you guys run out of models?" another user asked, adding, "This one has too many miles already." One other user reminded everyone, "lol remember when kim kardashian said she thought indian food was 'so disgusting' a few years back on kuwtk & now she's made it on the cover of #VogueIndia ahahaha."

There was also a user who said that s/he didn't mind the 37-year-old reality TV star "on @VOGUEIndia cover but the problem is that the photographer, the clothes, the makeup artist, the hair stylist, none of them are Indian. It could have been an opportunity to showcase Indian talent to the world but...."

Some others, however, came to the mag's defense for featuring Kim on its cover, saying that featuring international stars on the mag's cover is a once in a while thing. "people who are hating on @VOGUEIndia for their select international cover stars every one in a while really don't understand how magazines work," one said. Another wrote, "They put brown women on the cover all the time........they get an international star on the cover once in a blue moon."

Kim is of Armenian descent. One critic wrote, "In all fairness, Vogue could have picked a true American Whitey to grace the cover." The commenter went on pointing out, "The Kardashian girls are only half white. People tend to forget that they are Armenian, and not just white. Their mother is white, their father was Armenian. Armenia is a middle eastern country as well as India."

Neither Vogue India nor Kim has responded to the controversy.
