AceShowbiz - HBO has unveiled its new teaser trailer for its upcoming adaptation of Ray Bradbury's 1953 sci-fi novel "Fahrenheit 451". Staying true to the title, the one-minute trailer offers fiery look at the upcoming project which stars %cMichael B. Jordan% and %cMichael Shannon%.
The trailer opens with Jordan, who is hot off his stunning performance in "Black Panther", getting off a firetruck. Alongside Shannon's Captain Beatty, who is his mentor and captain, Jordan's Guy Montag heads to what looks like an old library.
"Do you want to know what's inside?" Beatty asks Montag. "Insanity. Chaos," he continues as a scene of Jordan's fireman character burning the books down is flickering on the screen. Somewhere else in the trailer, Jordan's character is seen standing in front of young kids who all don a maroon polo shirt. "By the time you guys grow up, there won't be one book left," he says to the kids, who reply unanimously, "Yes, Sir!"
In "Fahrenheit 451", Jordan, who plays villain Erik Killmonger in "Black Panther", portrays a dedicated fireman who begins to have doubts about his profession. He also casts doubt about the government that has outlawed books as inherently dangerous since they preserve and communicate ideas. "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. News. Facts. Memoirs. Internet of old. Burn it," says Beatty in voiceover. "We're not born equal, so we must made equal by the fire."
The intense trailer concludes with Montag telling, or one must say threatening, someone, "I want to burn."
The upcoming movie also stars %cSofia Boutella%, %cLilly Singh%, %cLaura Harrier% and %cMartin Donovan%. In addition to starring, Jordan serves as an executive producer on the project, producing through his Outlier Productions. Also serving as executive producers are Sarah Green of Brace Cove Productions, Alan Gasmer, Peter Jaysen, and Noruz Films' Ramin Bahrani, who co-wrote with Amir Naderi. David Coatsworth is a producer.
Directed by Bahrani, the dystopian movie is expected to arrived this May on HBO.
