Amy Schumer Gets a Boost of Confidence in First 'I Feel Pretty' Trailer

Schumer portrays Renee, an ordinary woman struggling with feelings of insecurity and inadequacy, who seems to change into a different person after a nasty fall.

AceShowbiz - Amy Schumer is loaded with an extra dose of confidence in the first trailer for upcoming comedy "I Feel Pretty". The comedienne plays a character named Renee, whose personality suddenly changes after she has a nasty fall during SoulCycle and hits her head hard.

"I've always wondered what it's like to be undeniable pretty," she says in voiceover, before she wakes from a fall at a fitness club. Looking at herself in the mirror, she says excitedly, "That's me? I'm beautiful!"

In "I Feel Pretty", an ordinary woman who struggles with feelings of insecurity and inadequacy on a daily basis wakes from a fall believing she is suddenly the most beautiful and capable woman on the planet. With this newfound confidence she is empowered to live her life fearlessly and flawlessly, but what will happen when she realizes her appearance never changed?

Stopping by "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Thursday, February 8 to unveil the trailer, Schumer talked about her character. "My character Renee, she kind of has low self-esteem and she really wants to be pretty and just feel all the parts of life that open up to you when you're just gorgeous, and then I fall off my bike in SoulCycle and I start seeing myself as a supermodel," she explained. "I look exactly the same, but in my mind, I am Gisele (Bundchen), I am one of the Jenner-Kardashians - gorgeous, and things start happening."

The "Trainwreck" star added about the movie, "It's a really funny and sweet movie that I think will make us all feel better. It made me feel better to play the role."

Michelle Williams, Emily Ratajkowski, Busy Philipps, Aidy Bryant, Rory Scovel, Sasheer Zamata, Tom Hopper and more join the cast of the comedy film. Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein serve as directors and penned the script. The movie will head into U.S. theaters on June 29.
