Reese Witherspoon and Oprah Winfrey were among the celebrities who appeared on Vanity Fair cover for its annual Hollywood Issue, but there's something wrong. The two stars were accidentally given an extra limb in the cover.
In the photo, Reese's legs were crossed to one side, but the lighting and color of her dress led many people to believe that she has three legs. A Twitter user wrote, "im tryna figure out how many legs reese witherspoon's got in here, it's been bothering me for the last five minutes." Another user replied, "She took a leg from [Zendaya Coleman]. Where does her leg go?"

One other replied to say that Reese was not the only one who got an extra limb. "And Oprah has three hands," so the user tweeted along with a picture of Oprah wrapping her "third hand" around Reese's waist.

However, some people were quick to point out that Reese's "third leg" was just the interior fabric of her gown. "Most likely, what we see as the third 'leg' is just the fabric of her dress that seems to match her skin tone because it's in shadow," a user tweeted. Another then countered back with a close-up photo that featured red circles around all three of Reese's legs, captioning it, "Her flesh is not the same color as the inside of her dress."
Weird. Could be a Photoshop error, but I'm not sure why they would have to Photoshop her leg into a different position. Most likely, what we see as the third "leg" is just the fabric of her dress that seems to match her skin tone because it's in shadow.

Witherspoon herself later took to Twitter to respond to the debate. "Well... I guess everybody knows now... I have 3 legs," she jokingly tweeted. "I hope you can still accept me for who I am. ( and I will never apologize for snuggling @Oprah... if you get the opportunity, I highly recommend it;)." Oprah also got in on the fun, telling Reese, "I accept your 3d leg. As I know you accept my 3d hand."

Vanity Fair eventually clarified the misunderstanding, saying, "While we would have loved the exclusive on @Rwitherspoon's three legs, unfortunately it's just the lining if her dress." The publication also addressed Oprah's third hand in a follow-up tweet, writing, "As for @Oprah, how can we expect her to juggle it all with just two hands? (We are correcting this error online.)"
