Melissa Benoist opened up about the sexual harassment allegations against former "Supergirl" boss Andrew Kreisberg. At the Television Critics Association's winter press tour on Monday, January 15, Benoist revealed that the whole situation about Kreisberg, who was fired following the allegations, was "a major disappointment."

"The irony was not lost on me," she said following her panel for "Waco". "I have to say that the way our show has recovered as a cast and a crew together, we have an atmosphere on set now that I'm extremely proud of and there are a lot of amazing men that work on our show."

"And we have a lot of amazing women that are in powerful positions on our show as well," she continued. "Now one of our co-showrunners is a female, [Jessica Queller], and the executive producer Sarah Schechter. We're all in the fight for equality and for a safer atmosphere in the working space."

Multiple women accused Kreisberg, who also served as "The Flash", "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" and "Arrow" executive producer, of sexual harassment with many of them being the current or former employees on those shows.

Kreisberg explained himself after the allegations, "I have made comments on women's appearances and clothes in my capacity as an executive producer, but they were not sexualized. Like many people, I have given someone a non-sexual hug or kiss on the cheek."

Following the accusation, Warner Bros. TV Group decided to fire Kreisberg. "After a thorough investigation, Warner Bros. Television Group has terminated Andrew Kreisberg's employment, effective immediately," the studio said in a statement. "Greg Berlanti will assume additional responsibilities on both 'The Flash', where he will work closely with executive producer/co-showrunner Todd Helbing, and 'Supergirl', where he will work closely with executive producers/co-showrunners Robert Rovner and Jessica Queller. We remain committed to providing a safe working environment for our employees and everyone involved in our productions."
