Aaron Rodgers and Danica Patrick are officially an item. The NASCAR driver has confirmed that she is dating the Green Bay Packers quarterback. "Yes, Aaron and I are dating," she told The Associated Press on Monday, January 15.
Both Aaron and Danica were involved in high-profile relationships over the past few years that ended last year. The 34-year-old NFL star split from actress Olivia Munn in April after dating for three years. The 35-year-old race car driver/model/advertising spokeswoman, meanwhile, ended her five-year relationship with fellow NASCAR driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr. in late November.
Danica and Aaron have been romantically linked to each other since the beginning of the new year, right before she began promoting her new fitness book, "Pretty Intense". They first met at The ESPYS in 2012, she told the AP.
The brunette beauty also revealed she's now a Packers fan, as she "told him a long time ago I'd always root for him as a player" despite her allegiance to the rival Bears. "Now I am probably going to cheer for the whole team," she added. "Take out the word 'probably.' Now I'm going to cheer for the whole team."
Danica confirming her new romance with Aaron comes just days after the lovebirds were spotted dining together. Two photos hit the web on Sunday, January 14 featuring the couple grabbing a bite at The Mission Mexican restaurant in Scottsdale, Arizona. They were not alone, however, as a small group of people joined them during the Saturday night outing.
Aaron and Danica could be seen sitting next to each other, but they didn't show any kind of public display of affection during the dinner, according to eyewitnesses. The sources also said that other patrons recognized the rumored couple, but left them alone.
Danica reportedly has been making several trips to Wisconsin over the past few weeks to see Aaron, with him returning the favor by visiting her in Arizona. They hadn't been afraid to be seen together in public either. "Danica and Aaron were all over each other, kissing and couldn't seem to keep their hands off each other," a source said of the couple, adding that they "want to keep this quiet for now" but are "really hitting it off."
