AceShowbiz - Just days after releasing the first look at the upcoming season 2, Hulu's "The Handmaid's Tale" drops the first teaser of its new season for viewing pleasure. Clocking in at only a minute, the teaser takes viewers to the world beyond the world of Gilead.
Set to a haunting cover of Buffalo Springfield's "For What It's Worth" by Maria J, the teaser offers a first glimpse at the feared colonies, contaminated and polluted regions of Gilead, a totalitarian and theocratic state which has replaced the United States of America, where prisoners are sent to. The Golden Globes-winning dystopian series also gives a first look at Madeline Brewer's Janine, who is featured standing in a field which looks like to be located outside the Boston setting, where the show takes place.
Leading lady Elisabeth Moss's Offred a.k.a. June Osborne is also seen in full Handmaid ensemble, though she adds a horrifying muzzle to her look. Meanwhile, Commander Waterford (Joseph Fiennes) is attending an event before he's seen approaching a terrified gagged man in the woods with a gun in one of his hands.
The teaser indicates that the forthcoming season will keep offering flashback storytelling method just like what it did in the first season as a scene of June, Luke (O.T. Fagbenle) and their daughter Hannah is flickering on the screen. At one point, June can be seen reuniting with her unborn child's dad Nick (Max Minghella) in what looks like a dark alley.
The teaser concludes with a scene of June burning something while sporting a stern expression.

"We are lucky enough to have Marisa Tomei in episode 2," he revealed. "Someone's excited," Moss quipped, to which Miller responded, "I was excited."
In the 13-episode second season, "The Handmaid's Tale", which walked away with the award of Best TV Series - Drama at the 2018 Golden Globes, will go beyond Margaret Atwood's novel. The highly-anticipated season 2 is set to premiere on April 25 on Hulu.
