AceShowbiz - Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston join the mix of presenters for the 2018 Golden Globe Awards. The two actresses' names often came out together in news due to sharing a mutual ex in Brad Pitt, and their scheduled appearance at the upcoming award event has started talks about their potential awkward run-in.
Words are Jolie is not worried at all about running into her former romantic rival, Aniston. "Angelina is aware that Jennife's going to be presenting at the Globes too," a so-called insider tells HollywoodLife.com. "It's not a shock. She had the option to back out but she chose not to - she doesn't feel the need to shy away from Jennifer. But don't expect her to make any sort of scene. The last thing she wants is some epic World War 3 with Brad's ex at the Golden Globes."
Jolie and Aniston, who rarely attend the same events, apparently agreed to take part at the upcoming Golden Globe ceremony to support the #MeToo and Time's Up movements. The "Unbroken" director had spoken up against disgraced movie producer Harvey Weinstein, while the "Mother's Day" star recently donated $500,000 to the Time's Up GoFundMe campaign which helps provide legal defense fund for men and women who suffer sexual abuse, assault or harassment while at work.
They join the already long list of presenters which also includes Halle Berry, Gal Gadot, Emilia Clarke, Kelly Clarkson, Darren Criss, Penelope Cruz, Kit Harington, Neil Patrick Harris, Chris Hemsworth and Amy Poehler among others. Helen Mirren and Emma Stone are among new additions to the list along with Jolie and Aniston.
The Time's Up campaign also urged those walking the red carpet at the 2018 Golden Globes to wear black. "This is a moment of solidarity, not a fashion moment. For years, we've sold these awards shows as women, with our gowns and colors and our beautiful faces and our glamour. This time the industry can't expect us to go up and twirl around," Eva Longoria told The New York Times earlier this week. "That's not what this moment is about."
Host Seth Meyers told Ellen DeGeneres how he would address the sexual abuse scandal in Hollywood during the Sunday ceremony, "I think that the biggest thing will just be hitting the right tone. But also, we don't want to ignore the things that will happen this year."
The 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards will air live, coast-to-coast on NBC January 7 starting at 8 P.M. ET.
