AceShowbiz - Fergie a.k.a Stacy Ferguson graced the stage at the 2017 Miss Universe Pageant, which was held on Sunday night, November 26 at the AXIS Theatre at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas. Donning a glittering black-and-silver mini dress, the 42-year-old songstress belted out her single "A Little Work" during the pageant's evening gown competition.

Fergie began her performance by singing the lines on the back side of the stage, while the pageant's contestants strutted their stuff. "We're all just a little bit broken/ We're all just a little bit hurt/ We've all got wounds half open," she sang. "We all can use a little work/ A little work, a little." The audience could be seen enjoying her performance while raising the flags of their respective countries.

Fans couldn't stop gushing over her performance that night, saying that the "Big Girls Don't Cry" singer should be crowned with the title instead. A Twitter user wrote, "Should we just crown @Fergie Miss Universe and call it a day?" Another gushed, "So flawless. Serving beauty and vocals. The song fit in perfectly for the evening gown competition. Beautifully done."

Also at the show, Miss South Africa Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters was named the new Miss Universe. The 22-year-old Nel-Peters took the crown from last year's winner Iris Mittenaere after defeating two other contestants, Laura Gonzales from Colombia and Davina Bennett from Jamaica. Nel-Peters will also get a yearlong salary, a luxury apartment in New York City for the duration of her reign and more prizes.

Prior to the announcement, the newly-crowned Miss Universe managed to impress the judges during the Q&A portion, where she was asked about the most important issue that women face in workplace. She answered that the fact that women don't get the same amount of salary as men is the most important issue. "I think we should have equal work for equal pay for women all over the world," she said.
