Bangtan Boys a.k.a. BTS continues spreading their charms on American television. Following their much-talked-about performance at the 2017 American Music Awards, the South Korean boyband is booked for the upcoming "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest".
A rep for their agency Big Hit Entertainment has confirmed the report, stating, "It's true that they recorded for 'Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve 2018'." The recording was carried out under strict surveillance and there's no word on what they have recorded for the show.
BTS follows in the footsteps of PSY, who became the first Korean artist to perform at the event. BTS will now be the first K-pop group to participate at the annual event. "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2018" will be broadcast on ABC from New York City's Times Square on New Year's Eve.
BTS recently performed their hit song "DNA" at the AMAs, which took place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, November 19. Not only the ARMY (BTS' fans), but also fellow celebrities tweeted out about their performance at the event.
The attention put on the boys that night has helped them land a spot in the Guinness World Records 2018. GWR announced on Monday, "Congrats to @BTS_twt on a stellar performance at last night's @AMAs! #DYK? The South Korean band has succeeded in earning a spot in this year's #GWR2018 edition for having the world's most @Twitter engagements for a music group!"
During their stay in the U.S., the seven-piece group also had a private photo shoot in L.A., which was disrupted by a rude paparazzi. The uninvited individual approached the boys when they were standing on the sidewalk of the street and asked them if they would like to do a collaboration with YouTuber RiceGum.
The boys seemed confused while bodyguards quickly blocked his way. The rude paparazzi ignored the bodyguards' warnings and said he would call the police if "they touch him again." As the rude paparazzi refused to leave, the crew decided to move the photo shoot to a different location.
