As the production of the eighth and final season of "Game of Thrones" is currently underway, more set photos have made their way out online. Previously, set photos revealed a huge, mysterious new set had been built in the Titanic Quarter in Belfast, Northern Ireland. And now, thanks to brand new set photos obtained by Wiki of Thrones, fans get to see the set better.
One of the photos shows that the set consists of two mysterious sections with a gap in the middle. Fans assume that it's a castle and the gap is the gate. However, it remains to be seen which castle it is. Fans seemingly rule out the possibility that it's a castle for Winterfell since the show has its own set for Winterfell at Moneyglass.
Since the set hasn't finished yet, it's hard to tell which castle it's going to be. It may be The Red Keep, The Eyrie, Storm's End or even something entirely different. But one thing certain is that it's enormous as fans note that the new set is beyond anything which the hit HBO medieval drama has built before throughout its seven seasons. It's not surprising though, since previous report said that HBO was planning to go big for the final season of the hugely popular series.
Another photo, meanwhile, features a huge trebuchet. As opposed the previous set photos, the new ones show that the siege weapon is lowered. It's unclear what scene the cast is taking on the set, but judging from the enormous castle and trebuchet, it's expected to be some big action scenes.
In addition, the site reports that the production has also begun at Wolf Hill Quarry, the set where the epic Ice Lake Battle in season 7 was filmed. According to a source, the filming has been going on for a week. They reportedly are still filming even at night.
