The 'Modern Family' star has set things straight after she was criticized for mocking a woman, who was driving in a car right beside her, and laughing at her.

AceShowbiz - Sarah Hyland has been accused of body-shaming a random woman. The 26-year-old actress appeared to mock a female driver in an Instagram video. In the clip, Sarah and her male friend could be heard laughing while she filmed the woman who was driving a car next to them.

The "Modern Family" star was then heard saying through her laughter, "How, how, do you get in your car miss?" The woman was unaware that she was being filmed and commented upon by the actress and her friend.

Upon seeing the video, people thought that Sarah was poking fun at the woman's weight. The video was even more shocking since the actress once opened about her own experience being criticized for her weight on social media.

Following the backlash, Sarah posted new videos on her Instagram Stories. "OK I'd like to say one thing. For those thinking that I was making fun of the woman in the car, uh no. If you noticed, the car didn't have a car handle. That's why I was questioning how she got in the car or not. It didn't have a handle!" she explained her comment in the previous video.

She posted another video in which she rolled her eyes and said that everyone took things so personally these days.

Back in May, Sarah took to Twitter to address her body-shamers. "I'd like to address something that has not only been brought up on Twitter but has been HEAVILY discussed by all of you in my Instagram comments," she wrote. "That something is my weight. I don't normally comment on things like this because it draws attention to those trying to spread negativity but I'm here to explain a few things and spread love. Here goes."

"My self-confidence is not rendered from your comments. Because I will always be too fat. I will always be too skinny. I will never have enough curves to be called a woman. And I will always be a slut for wearing a push-up bra. Love the you you set out to be. Be the best version of yourself. Be healthy. I'm a 26-year-old woman who goes through more than you could even imagine on a daily basis," she added.
