The second trailer of the Jake Kasdan-directed movie also pays tribute to the original movie by bringing back the classic Jumanji board game.

AceShowbiz - "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" premieres first trailer for viewing pleasure. It sees the return of the classic Jumanji board which has an improvement, a video game. Four youngsters accidentally find it at school during detention and as soon as they play it, they are transported into an unknown woodland.
While the original board game kept the players in the same bodies, the new one tranforms them into different avatars with their own special skills. The nerdy one turns into a muscleman played Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, the beautiful cheerleader becomes "an overweight middle-aged man" played by Jack Black, the jock shrinks into a completely different person played by Kevin Hart, and the bookworm transforms into a sexy badass woman played by Karen Gillan.
As the foursome journeys into the jungle, they meet a mysterious adventurer played by Nick Jonas. They almost get killed in a dark temple, fight a group of motorbiking thugs, have a starring contest with a snake, get chased by a horde of angry rhinos, and face other obstacles. As they are determined to stay alive, Hart's character succumbs to his major weakness, a cake.
The movie is a sequel to the original 1995 movie. In this brand new adventure, the tables are turned as four teenagers in detention are sucked into the world of Jumanji. When they discover an old video game console with a game they've never heard of, they are immediately thrust into the game's jungle setting. What they discover is that you don't just play Jumanji - Jumanji plays you. They'll have to go on the most dangerous adventure of their lives, or they'll be stuck in the game forever.
Directed by Jake Kasdan ("Bad Teacher", "Sex Tape"), the movie is coming out in 3D across the country on December 20. It's also supported by the likes of Alex Wolff and Bobby Cannavale. Co-produced by The Rock, it was filmed in Holulu, Hawaii. The project had been in development hell at Columbia Pictures since 2012 before it was fast tracked by Sony in 2015.
