Riz Ahmed, Padma Lakshmi, Elisabeth Moss and more stars were wearing ACLU ribbons when attending the Sunday event to support ACLU fight against Trump.

AceShowbiz - A number of celebrities attending this year's Primetime Emmy Awards made bold fashion statement by wearing small blue ribbons. They wore the ribbons at the Sunday, September 17 award-giving ceremony to show support for the American Civil Liberties Union (UCLA), which has fought vigorously against President Donald Trump's immigration agenda.

"The Night Of" star Riz Ahmed, "Top Chef" host Padma Lakshmi and "The Handmaid's Tale" actress Elisabeth Moss were among those who wore the small ribbons to support the civil rights organization at the event that was held at the Microsoft Theatre in downtown Los Angeles.

Showing his support for equality, Riz wore the ribbon on the left side of his tuxedo as he posed on the red carpet. The 34-year-old British-born actor also took it to the stage when he was honored with the award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or a Movie for his portrayal of Nasir Khan on "The Night Of".

Padma, meanwhile, added the pin to her stunning pink mermaid-like dress as she posed for photos. The "Top Chef" host, whose show was nominated for Outstanding Reality Program, showed off her new 'do that evening. She ditched her long locks in favor of shaggy bob.

As for Elisabeth, she put the blue ribbon on her clutch. "The Handmaid's Tale" actress, who won her first Emmy with the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series award for her role as Offred on the Bruce Miller-created series, looked stunning in a custom baby pink Prabal Gurung gown as she carried the matching clutch.

Also sporting the UCLA ribbons were Kumail Ninjiani and wife Emily V. Gordon, "Veep" actor Matt Walsh and Jenifer Lewis among others.

Stars also wore the blue ribbons at the Creative Arts Emmys last weekend, as well as at the Academy Awards and the Tony Awards earlier this year. Michael Moore, ACLU chief communications officer, released a statement to The Hollywood Reporter back when the ribbons rocked the Oscars red carpet.

"We have been incredibly heartened by the outpouring of support for the ACLU from the entertainment community at large as we band together to protect and defend the rights and civil liberties guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution for everyone in this country," Michael said to the news outlet.
