When the Swedish heartthrob, who played Kidman's on-screen husband on 'Big Little Lies', headed to the stage to accept his Emmy, Kidman stopped him and kissed him on the lips.

AceShowbiz - You read it right! Nicole Kidman just shocked viewers as she shared an intimate kiss with "Big Little Lies" co-star Alexander Skarsgard when the latter was on his way to receive his first trophy at the 2017 Primetime Emmy Awards, which was held on Sunday, September 17.

The Australian actress seemingly couldn't hide her excitement as her on-screen love interest won Outstanding Actor in a Limited Series or a Television Movie. She stopped the Swedish hunk, who played the husband of Kidman's Celeste, to give him a congratulatory kiss full on the lips.

Interestingly, Kidman's husband Keith Urban was seen standing right beside her, and he seemed okay with the fact that his wife is kissing another man in front of him. The country musician was seen coolly smiling and clapping.

Meanwhile, viewers gave unanimous reactions on Twitter regarding the one blink-and-you'll-miss-it shocking moment. "Was it just me or did Alexander Skarsgard and Nicole Kidman kiss on the lips?! #Emmys," tweeted @crackliffe alongside a funny GIF of shocked Chris Pratt. Meanwhile, the unexpected moment left Stephanie Parrot speechless as she wrote, "I don't know how I feel about that kiss he just planted on Nicole Kidman with her husband right there though #emmys."

Skarsgard nabbed the award after beating out David Thewlis ("Fargo"), Bill Camp and Michael K. Williams ("The Night Of") as well as Alfred Molina and Stanley Tucci ("Feud").

During his acceptance speech, the 41-year-old actor used the opportunity to thank his mostly female co-stars including Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Zoe Kravitz and Laura Dern. "Big Little Lies" earned Kidman and Dern the awards of Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or a Television Movie and Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Television Movie respectively.
