The 'Kingsman: The Golden Circle' helmer says in a new interview that he did have 'chats' about Superman.

AceShowbiz - Matthew Vaughn confirms rumors suggesting that he is in talks to direct "Man of Steel 2". In an interview during press junket for "Kingsman: The Golden Circle", the director reveals his plan for another "Kingsman" film and lets it slip that he has had "chat" about the Kryptonian superhero.

"I am planning another Kingman, I've written the treatment and some of the scenes...I don't know what I'm going to do next but I have had chats about Superman, I love Superman," he says. "If somebody asks me to do Indiana Jones, most of the superheros or Star Wars the fanboy in me can't help but be excited."

Vaughn was first linked to the "Man of Steel" sequel in March. The DC movie is expected to mark the director's return to superhero films. He successfully directed "X-Men: First Class" in 2011 and helmed another comic book adaptation "Kick-Ass" in 2010.

It's unclear when WB plans to release the second Superman movie, but Henry Cavill's character will first return in "Justice League" due November 17. He will be joined by Ben Affleck's Batman, Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa's Aquaman, Ezra Miller's The Flash, and Ray Fisher's Cyborg.

The DC Extended Universe will continue with an Aquaman solo movie slated for December 21, 2018. Other upcoming films in the franchise include "The Batman", "Wonder Woman 2", "Suicide Squad 2", a Joker origin movie, an untitled Joker and Harley Quinn project, and "Gotham City Sirens".

Matthew Vaughn's "Kingsman: The Golden Circle" is coming out September 22 in the United States. Picking up where the first film "Kingsman: The Secret Service" left off, it stars the likes of Taron Egerton, Colin Firth, Julianne Moore, Halle Berry and Channing Tatum.

The director will next direct "I Am Pilgrim" which is adapted from Terry Hayes' debut novel of the same name.
