Marvel and Netflix have shared the first look at "Luke Cage" season 2. Making its way out via Entertainment Weekly, the photo shows an upgrade that Misty Knight (Simone Missick) has got following an event on "Marvel's The Defenders".

The Harlem police detective sports a new prosthetic bionic arm [SPOILER ALERT!] to replace her arm which was sliced off by the Hand villain Bakuto (Ramon Rodríguez) on "The Defenders". After recovering in the hospital at the end of "The Defenders", Misty is clearly ready to be back in action as she holds a gun and walks alongside Luke Cage (Mike Colter) in the image.

Misty's bionic arm is definitely not a surprise for Marvel fans. In the comic books, Misty receives her bionic arm from Tony Stark after she lost the limb in a bombing. The arm grants her superhuman strength and a slew of other abilities involving energy blasts and gravity fields and even a nifty ability to control robots.

How Misty gets the bionic arm on the Netflix series is still kept under wraps. The show is set to return with its second season in 2018, but a release date has not been announced yet.

"Luke Cage" centers on the titular hero described as a wrongly imprisoned man who gains superpowers in the form of unbreakable skin and superhuman strength by a sabotaged experiment. He was first introduced on "Marvel's Jessica Jones" which was released in 2015 before getting his own solo series in 2016.

Colter said the second season would explore Luke's public identity. "It's something that we'll explore in the 'Defenders' and hopefully in Season 2 of 'Cage' which I start very soon," he said, adding, "It's very different. He's out. People know what he looks like. He's not in any kind of disguise."

Rosario Dawson will reprise her role as Claire Temple and Lucy Liu reportedly lands a role in the second season.
