'Mel knew the 'wedding night' comment was coming which is why her sponsored Dunkin' Donuts cup was filled with water and not coffee,' claims a source.

AceShowbiz - This week's episode of "America's Got Talent" sent fans into a frenzy. In addition to technical difficulties in two acts, the episode featured an unexpected OMG moment when Melanie Brown a.k.a. Mel B threw a glass of water on fellow judge Simon Cowell, who dissed her failed marriage. But a new report suggests that all the drama was staged.

"Mel knew the 'wedding night' comment was coming which is why her sponsored Dunkin' Donuts cup was filled with water and not coffee," a source claims to Radar Online. "Simon is up for everything when it comes to getting attention for the show."

"He's a genius at publicity and this show is his baby," the source adds. "Expect lots and lots more fights. Especially when the cameras are rolling."

The source goes on saying, "After the show Mel did the press so she couldn't have been that upset. Simon skipped the press, adding more drama to the fight!"

During the episode, Simon made a crude joke about Mel's failed marriage to estranged husband Stephen Belafonte. When asked for a comment for magician Demian Aditya, one of the show's contestants who faced a technical malfunction during his performance, Simon quipped, "I kind of imagine this would be like Mel B's wedding night."

Before he even finished his sentence, Mel flung her glass of water at Simon before walking off the stage. Not stopping there, Simon continued, "A lot of anticipation, not much promise or delivery."

The ex-member of Spice Girls said in a statement, "[Simon] should know, if you say something inappropriate he's gonna get like, stuff thrown at him. In a friendly way. I made sure there was no ice in it this time ... just fizzy water."
