A notorious hacking group took over the company's Twitter and Facebook accounts for around 20 minutes.

Hackers continue to target HBO. In the latest cyberattack directed at the network, the company's Facebook and Twitter accounts were taken over by a notorious hacking group on Wednesday night, August 16.
"Hi, OurMine are here, we are just testing your security ,HBO team please contact us to upgrade the security - ourmine .org -> Contact," read a message posted by the hackers on both social platforms at approximately 8 P.M. PT. The hackers also tweeted, "let's make #HBOHacked trending!"

The hackers also took over the Twitter accounts of such shows as "Game of Thrones", "Vinyl", "True Blood", "Silicon Valley", "Looking", "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver", "Veep" and "The Leftovers".
"We are investigating," a spokesperson for the network told The Hollywood Reporter. HBO took back control over the social media accounts after around 20 minutes.
HBO is currently still dealing with hackers who claimed to have obtained 1.5 terabytes of data from the company. The hackers demanded a multimillion-dollar ransom and has threatened to dump more information from the stolen data and videos of future shows online.
Earlier this month, the fourth episode of "Game of Thrones" season 7 was leaked online, but it was not part of the major hack. The breach came from distribution partner Star India, whose logo appears as a watermark in the pirated copy of the episode. Four arrests have been made in Mumbai related to the leak. Police say the theft was committed by current and former employees of Prime Focus Technologies, the data-management company hired by Sky India.
And just today, the upcoming sixth episode of the show was accidentally posted by HBO's European and Spain divisions onto their on-demand subscribers, four days ahead of schedule. The episode titled "Beyond the Wall" was available for a full hour before it was removed.
It, however, has been posted to Reddit and has been shared via YouTube, Twitch and other streaming providers. The full episode was posted on torrent sites.
