'The Bachelorette' star reacts to allegations that she only picked Bryan because Peter was not sure about getting engaged.

AceShowbiz - Following "The Bachelorette" finale, Rachel Lindsay broke her silence on the allegations that Peter Kraus was her first pick and fiance Bryan Abasolo was only her second choice. She was accused of settling for ring instead of love since Peter was not ready to propose.

"It's so funny to me, I've never been one to settle or to be desperate for anything," she said during a visit to "Live! with Kelly and Ryan". "That's why I was 32 and still single. So like, when people say things like that, like Bryan was runner up, I'm like 'no,' I think you can clearly see that I have a lot of love for Bryan. I never would have just chosen a ring."

When Ryan Seacrest asked her about Peter who claimed he tried to reconnect with Rachel after their dramatic breakup but she turned him down, she said, "That was a closed chapter for me. My focus was Bryan, I chose Bryan for a reason. Peter had his chance."

One of Rachel's former suitors, Eric Bigger, was among those who thought Bryan was her rebound guy. "Honestly, from watching the show last night for the first time, I don't think she picked the right man in that moment," he said during Ben Higgins and Ashley Iaconetti's podcast. "Prior to seeing the show, I always thought Bryan was the guy for her once I left."

He said of Bryan, "I love him ... but I felt bad for him. It seemed like he was a rebound. I could be wrong, but that's what it looked like in my eyes and maybe the feelings they had for each other is different from what I see. But man, it was tough."

Bryan himself admitted it was weird watching Rachel's scene with Peter. He said on "Live! with Kelly and Ryan", "Yea...Obviously, it's a little strange to watch your fiancee date 30 other guys. I'm mentally strong. I came into this whole process knowing that she was going to have relationship with other guys, deep connections, maybe even love. At the end of the day I knew that she could only be in love with one man. And that was me."

Meanwhile, Peter said Rachel made the right desicion. "Relationships are all about sacrifice," he told PEOPLE. "She and I had been having a conversation/borderline argument for about three hours. I knew it was not going to end the way that I wanted. I knew the only way to keep her was to give her what it was that she was looking for. I decided that I would sacrifice my beliefs in order to prove to her that I was in love with her."

"It was too little, too late. She knew that it wasn't where my heart was at the time. I think we probably would've resented each other for it if she had agreed. I do think she made the right decision [by choosing Bryan] in the end."

Peter, 31, now becomes a candidate for the new season of "The Bachelor". "I'd have to think a lot about it," he coyly told Michael Strahan on "Good Morning America".

However, Rachel had a different name when asked who the next Bachelor should be, "I actually think Alex [Bordyukov] should be the next bachelor," she told Variety. "I don't think you got to see enough of him ... He's funny, quirky, handsome ... and a serial monogamist." Her fiance agreed, "I think [Alex] would be the most interesting season for sure."

Of life post-"The Bachelorette", Rachel told PEOPLE she was not sure about doing a spin-off but the bride-to-be might consider getting a TV wedding with her fiance.
