The 44-year-old English filmmaker reportedly has been tapped to direct the upcoming 'Green Lantern' movie, which is scheduled for a 2020 release.

"Green Lantern Corps" has found its director in Rupert Wyatt, according to a new report. That Hashtag Show is the first to announce the involvement of the "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" director as saying that the helmer is currently "attached to the film that is scheduled for a 2020 release."
Wyatt previously signed on to helm 20th Century Fox's "Gambit" movie, before dropping out due to a scheduling conflict. He is currently putting the finishing touches on a new sci-fi thriller called "Captive State", but he allegedly has cleared his schedule to take on the upcoming "Green Lantern" movie.
Warner Bros. has yet to confirm Wyatt's involvement. Should it be true, Wyatt would be the second "Planet of the Apes" director to join the DC Films. Earlier in the year, Matt Reeves ("Dawn of the Planet of the Apes", "War for the Planet of the Apes") signed on to direct "The Batman" starring Ben Affleck.
Meanwhile, "Green Lantern Corps" is set to feature both Hal Jordan and John Stewart, with the movie being described as "Lethal Weapon in space." Warner Bros. reportedly hasn't started casting, but is looking for an actor aged 39-50 to play Hal Jordan and 21-30 to star as John Stewart.
