Ed Sheeran reveals that he has quit Twitter after becoming target of nasty comments from online trolls. The 26-year-old British singer/songwriter has decided to stop using his account after realizing that just one cruel comment is enough to ruin "your day."

"I've actually come off Twitter completely. I can't read it," Ed told The Sun. "I go on it and there's nothing but people saying mean things. Twitter's a platform for that," he explained. "One comment ruins your day. But that's why I've come off it."

"The head-f**k for me has been trying to work out why people dislike me so much," added the "Shape of You" hitmaker, who revealed that he recently got abuse from Lady GaGa's fans over an interview, but said it was completely unjustified.

"Lady GaGa's fanbase read an interview in which they assumed I was talking about her and they all f***ing hate," he recalled. "And it wasn't anything to do with that at all. So I think Twitter gets on a massive steam roll of assuming things and then you get in the s**t."

Ed then said that he relies on his family and friends to keep his feet on the ground. "I have people like my dad who will have a conversation with me," he shared, before adding, "I don't have to have someone calling me a whatever."
