Hugh Jackman's Wolverine and Dafne Keen's X-23 will unleash their claws again. The trailer for "Logan Noir" has been released, offering a look at "Logan" stunning scenes in black and white. Featured in the teaser are angsty Wolverine, Laura a.k.a. X-23, Patrick Stewart's Professor Charles Xavier and Stephen Merchant's Caliban.

This is not the first time "Logan" releases something in black and white. A brief teaser trailer and many of "Logan" photographs were also released in black and white during the promotional campaign for the movie.

"During production of 'Logan', I took many black and white photographs and noticed how striking and dramatic our gritty settings and characters appeared in monochrome," said director James Mangold in a statement. "The western and noir vibes of the film seemed to shine in the format and there was not a trace of modern comic hero movie sheen," he added.

Fans have given an enthusiastic response to the release of the black-and-white "Logan". "Many hoping that they would get a chance to see the finished film in carefully timed, high contrast black and white," said Mangold. "Well. Sometimes hope becomes reality."

In the near future, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Professor X in a hideout on the Mexican border. But Logan's attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young mutant arrives, being pursued by dark forces.

The black-and-white version of "Logan" will be released in U.S. theaters for one night only on May 17.
