The former football player's family also releases a new statement following a private funeral attended by some of his NFL friends.

AceShowbiz - Days after it was reported that Aaron Hernandez left suicide note for his male prison lover, the identity of his gay lover is allegedly revealed. The former NFL player who hung himself in his prison cell on April 19 was reportedly romancing Kyle Kennedy, a 22-year-old heroin addict who was convicted for armed robbery.

According to Daily Mail, before he took his own life, Aaron gave Kyle a $50,000 watch and other items. Kylie, who was reportedly the last person who saw Aaron alive, is now on suicide watch inside the maximum security Souza-Baranowski Corrections Center.

However, Aaron's attorney denies the gay rumor. Jose Baez tells TMZ Sports, "Rumors of letters to a gay lover, in or out of prison, are false. These are malicious leaks used to tarnish somebody who is dead." As for whether Aaron's death was suicide or foul play, Jose says, "There is still plenty we are investigating."

Aaron left three letters, allegedly addressed to his fiancee Shayanna Jenkins-Hernandez, his 4-year-old daughter Avielle and his gay lover in prison. His family had read his final notes prior to his private funeral on Monday, April 24. The funeral was also attended by some of his NFL friends, such as Riley Cooper, Brandon Spikes, Mike Pouncey and Maurkice Pouncey.

After the funeral, Aaron's family released a new statement. "The family of Aaron Hernandez wishes to thank the public for its thoughtful expressions of condolences. The family wishes to say goodbye to Aaron in privacy. They thank everyone in advance for affording them some measure of privacy during this difficult time. They love him, and they miss him," so read the statement.
