The 26-year-old singer/songwriter was spotted filming a music video for the catchy track in Galway, Ireland, a day before he kicks off two concerts in Dublin.

AceShowbiz - When he was 13 years old, Ed Sheeran played music for money on the streets of Galway. On Wednesday evening, April 11, he came back to Galway but for a very different reason, which is for a video filming. The pop star surprised his fans in Galway as he was spotted filming a music video in O'Connor's pub in Salthill.

Ed reportedly filmed a music video for "Galway Girl", a track off his latest album "Divide (division sign)". The news was spreading like wildfire, and the video set was soon packed with excited and curious crowd. The "Shape of You" hitmaker took to Instagram to thank people who have joined him on set. He wrote, "Thank you to Galway and all the wonderful people in it for helping us shoot a music video yesterday x."

In the middle of filming, Ed spared some of his time to take selfies with his fans, before returning to the crew to continue the filming process.

In other footage shared by a fan, the filming seemed to include a scene of young Ed Sheeran playing a guitar while singing on the street to make money. A red-haired busker was seen playing young Ed with a guitar, acting as a street singer in front of cameras.

"Galway Girl" would be the third track off "Divide" which gets a music video after "Castle on the Hill" and "Shape of You." "Galway Girl" was inspired by a girl named Niamh Dunne. She is a part of an Irish band Beoga. The group helped Ed to write "Galway Girl" and contributed to the Irish vibe in the music. Niamh previously said, "I am in a band called Beoga and we actually co-wrote the song with Ed. We were over in Suffolk last year recording with him, so that was kind of when the song came together. I suppose I was in front of him so he just wrote a song about what was in front of him so that was how it came about."

She added, "It started with a mutual friend of ours, Foy Vance. They were on tour together and they played some of Beoga's tracks in the van together and Ed liked it so when he was making his new album he emailed us and asked if we would be up for doing some recording."
