John Boyega Shares Final 'Pacific Rim Uprising' Set Photo as Filming Wraps

AceShowbiz - John Boyega has taken to his Twitter account to announce that "Pacific Rim Uprising" has wrapped its filming. Along with the announcement, Boyega shares a final set photo which is taken on the last filming location in Qingdao, China.

"It's been an amazing six months ! That's a wrap on #PacificRimUprising," writes Boyega in the caption. The photo sees him walking near a large Chinese sign on the filming set.

In "Pacific Rim Uprising", Boyega will play Jake Pentecost, the son of late Stacker Pentecost (Idris Elba). Plot detail is still kept under wraps, but Jake reportedly will team up with Scott Eastwood's character Nate Lamber to fight against Kaiju monster.

The first "Pacific Rim" movie starts with Kaiju emerging from inter-dimensional portal at the bottom of Pacific Ocean. Humans unite to defeat the monsters by creating Jaegers, giant humanoid mechas controlled by two pilots. A retired Jaeger pilot teams up with a trainee to save the world from apocalypse.

"Pacific Rim Uprising" is set to be released on February 23, 2018, with Guillermo del Toro still producing. Steven S. DeKnight serves as director and writes the script together with Emily Carmichael, Kira Snyder and T.S. Nowlin.

Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day and Burn Gorman will return to the movie as Mako Mori, Newt and Gottlieb respectively. Other cast members include Cailee Spaeny, Jing Tian, Levi Maeden, Adria Arjona and Rahart Adams.
