See Creepy Pennywise and The Losers Club in New 'It' Photos
Movie

One of the photos features Pennywise holding a red balloon, which is a sign that he has returned to town and is ready to spread terrors.

AceShowbiz - New photos of "It" have arrived and offer a better look at the most crucial characters in the movie based on Stephen King's novel. Making their way out via USA Today, the images feature creepy clown-shaped monster Pennywise and the members of The Losers Club.

In one of the photos, Pennywise poses with a red balloon, which is a bad luck since it's a sign that the killer clown has returned to town to spread terrors. Another photo shows a group of seven boys known as The Losers Club, which members consist of Bill Denbrough (Jaeden Lieberher), Ben Hanscom (Jeremy Ray Taylor), Richie Tozier (Finn Wolfhard), Stan Uris (Wyatt Oleff), Mike Hanlon (Chosen Jacobs), Eddie Kaspbrak (Jack Dylan Grazer) and Beverly Marsh (Sophia Lilis).

The other photo, meanwhile, shows Pennywise's creepy hand and several frightened kids who are approached by the monster. The last photo sees dreadful Pennywise lurking in sewers, searching for victims.

Directed by Andres Muschietti, "It" is set in small town Derry in Maine. The movie follows seven children known as The Losers Club, who have to face life problems, bullies and killer monster Pennywise. The monster, which takes a shape of a clown and haunts the town every 30 years, terrorizes its victims by exploiting their fears and phobias.

Muschietti tells USA Today that innocence lost is one of the major themes in "It". "It happens in the book, this coming of age and kids facing their own mortality, which is something that in real life happens in a more progressive way and slowed down," he says. He later adds, "There's a passage (in 'It') that reads, 'Being a kid is learning how to live and being an adult is learning how to die.' There's a bit of a metaphor of that and it just happens in a very brutal way, of course."

Back in 1990's, Pennywise was portrayed by Tim Curry on "It" miniseries. The killer clown will be portrayed by Bill Skarsgard in the upcoming movie and Muschietti promises that Skarsgard's take on the character will be "more terrifying."

"It" will be split into two movies, with the first movie being set to be released in the U.S. on September 8. The second movie, meanwhile, reportedly would start filming on March 17, six months before the release of the first film. Gary Dauberman, Chase Palmer and Cary Joji Fukunaga write the script based on Stephen King's novel.
