Movie

The video features Hart's George Beard turning his arrogant principal into a ridiculously enthusiastic, incredibly dimwitted superhero named Captain Underpants.

AceShowbiz - The first trailer for "Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie" has been released by DreamWorks. The three-minute video opens with Kevin Hart and Ed Helms introducing the animated superhero comedy film, which is based on the worldwide sensation and bestselling book series of the same name.

"He doesn't have X-ray vision, he can't even climb a tree, wearing a cape does not make him a superhero," says Hart of Captain Underpants in the beginning of the video. "Yes it does!" Helms insists.

The video offers glimpses of two elementary pranksters, George Beard (Hart) and Harold Hutchins (Thomas Middleditch). The duo can be seen trying to hynotize their principal Benny Krupp (Helms) into believing he's a stupid superhero. "When I snap my fingers, you will obey my every command. You are now the amazing Captain Underpants!" says Beard.

"Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie" follows two imaginative elementary students, Beard and Hutchins, who hypnotize their arrogant principal Krupp into thinking he’s a ridiculously enthusiastic, incredibly dimwitted superhero named Captain Underpants. Together, they are setting out to a dangerous journey in stopping a mad scientist Pippy Poopypants (Nick Kroll) who threatens the world.

Directed by David Soren and penned by Nicholas Stoller, "Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie" is scheduled to be released in U.S. theaters on June 2. The animated superhero film also stars Jordan Peele as the tattletale genius Melvin Sneedly and Kristen Schaal as Mr. Krupp's love interest Edith.
