The Mother Monster joins the judges and surprises the contestants in the season 9 premiere of the reality competition series.

AceShowbiz - New sneak peeks of Lady GaGa's guest judging stint on "RuPaul's Drag Race" have arrived in the form of photos. Making their way out via Entertainment Weekly, the pictures see the "Million Reasons" hitmaker joining the other judges on the runway and interacting with the contestants. One contestant looks emotional as she sits and holds GaGa's hand.
"There's an ease and familiarity that is apparent when you watch her," says host RuPaul of GaGa's appearance on the show. "We had a fabulous time with GaGa. She was in heaven because this is all so much a part of her wheelhouse and what she does with imagery, costumes, and the way she presents herself."
According to RuPaul, it was GaGa who first reached out to him about appearing on the show. The Grammy-winning singer tweeted back in 2013, "Can I PLEASE be a judge on Drag Race! @RuPaul I started out in these [clubs], these women taught me how to serve!"
Of course, RuPaul happily welcomes her. "She comes from this background of downtown New York City clubs, so that was the difference between her and other guests who've been appreciative of what we do but don't know where we come from," says RuPaul. "She comes from that world."
GaGa will appear as a guest judge in the season 9 premiere set to air on Friday, March 24 at 8 P.M. ET on VH1. A previously leaked clip revealed that the "Poker Face" songstress would surprise the contestants by going undercover as a Lady GaGa impersonator and mingling with them.
