AceShowbiz - Good news for Wolverine's fans because "Logan" is getting a black-and-white version. Director James Mangold has teased the possibility of the monochrome version by replying a fan who's asking him to release the black-and-white adaptation of the %cHugh Jackman%-starring movie.
"So [James Mangold], by all that is good in the world, please let there be a release of 'Logan' that is black and white. I need that in my life," wrote the user on Twitter. The director simply replied, "Workin' on it."
@AdamMcDee Workin' on it.— Mangold (@mang0ld) March 1, 2017
The black and white version is quite a fit for "Logan". The film embraces western style and film noir sensibilities to deliver a compelling character study unlike anything the comic book genre has seen. Too bad no other details related to the black-and-white version are available at the moment.
Before Mangold, director George Miller did a similar thing with his Oscar-winning film, "Mad Max: Fury Road", back in 2015. The movie got a very limited black-and-white release in theaters and the version was also included in a deluxe edition release.
"Logan" takes place in the year 2029, where mutant births have become extremely rare. The defenders of mutant kind, the X-Men, are long gone, and the only remains of them are an old and struggling Charles Xavier (%cPatrick Stewart%) and a weary Logan. Logan's vaunted healing factor has slowed, and at times doesn't seem to work at all. When a young mutant needs his help, Logan has to unsheathe his claws once more. His job isn't over yet.
Scheduled to be released in U.S. theaters on March 3, "Logan" also stars %cRichard E. Grant%, %cStephen Merchant%, %cDafne Keen%, %cBoyd Holbrook%, %cElizabeth Rodriguez%, %cEriq La Salle%, %cElise Neal% and %cQuincy Fouse%.
