George Clooney is finally speaking out about becoming a father for the first time in his 50s. During an interview for French program "Rencontres de Cinema", George talked about expecting twins with his wife, Amal Clooney.

"We are really happy and really excited. It's going to be an adventure," George told journalist Laurent Weil. "We've sort of embraced it all with arms wide open," the "Money Monster" actor added.

George also talked about the moment where he told all of his friends about the pregnancy news. "It got really quiet," he recalled. "And they all just started making baby crying noises, and the whole table just busted up laughing."

Talking about his age, George revealed that he's inspired by 89-year-old French actor Jean-Paul Belmondo, who had a child with his second wife, Nathalie Tardivel, in 2003 when he was 70 years old. "So, I'm feeling a little better about being 56 by the time [the twins come]," George admitted, laughing.

The gender of George and Amal's baby twins was previously revealed by George's mother, Nina Clooney. During an interview, Nina accidentally revealed, "It will be one of each! Yes, a boy and a girl. That's what I've been told." She then added, "How marvelous! My husband and I are extremely excited."
