After the Joker, another Batman villain is born on "Gotham". Edward Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) is fully embracing his villainous side and his complete transformation into the classic Batman villain is teased in a promo for the spring premiere of the FOX series.

[SPOILER ALERT!] Nygma shot Penguin who confessed his love for Ed and his role in Isabella's death in the winter finale which aired Monday, January 30. As seen in the sneak peek for the spring return, he will start wearing his signature green suit and leaving the question mark, though he doesn't have his cane yet.

"Gotham" is going on hiatus and will return on April 24. The next episode is aptly titled "Mad City: How the Riddler Got His Name".

Cory Michael Smith previously hinted at his character's transformation into the famous villain in an interview with Cinema Blend, "I do not have a cane yet, but I want one so badly for a few different reasons; I won't tell you all of them so I don't spoil anything, but I'm pitching very had for a cane." He continued teasing, "I want him to be someone who deserves a f**king cane. He needs to be someone that's just begging for a cane."
