The soundtrack, which earned Best Original Song title for 'City of Stars' at the 2017 Golden Globe Awards, becomes the top-selling album of the week and flies to No. 1 on the Top Album Sales chart.

AceShowbiz - The Weeknd's "Starboy" tops the Billboard 200 chart for the third non-consecutive week. The singer's latest effort earned 63,000 equivalent album units in the week ending January 12, according to Nielsen Music. The bulk of the set's units are generated by streams, as it earns 38,000 streaming equivalent units in total. Meanwhile, traditional album sales comprise 14,000 of the sum.

Following its big night at the 2017 Golden Globe Awards, "La La Land" soundtrack flies to the runner-up slot with 42,000 units, which are mostly in traditional album sales. The soundtrack, which earned Best Original Song title for "City of Stars" at the award show, becomes the top-selling album of the week and ascends to No. 1 on the Top Album Sales chart.

Two of Lin-Manuel Miranda projects, the "Moana" soundtrack and the original Broadway cast recording of "Hamilton", bow at No. 3 and No. 6 with 39,000 units and 29,000 units respectively. As Billboard notes, the "Hamilton" soundtrack officially went platinum this week as it sold over 1 million copies, according to Nielsen Music.

Bruno Mars' "24K Magic" descends to No. 4 with 36,000 units, while J. Cole's fourth studio album "4 Your Eyez Only" holds at No. 5 with 30,000 units. Drake's quadruple-platinum album "Views" falls to No. 7 with 28,000 units sold .

Rock band Dropkick Murphys' ninth studio album, "11 Short Stories of Pain & Glory", debuts at No. 8 with 26,000 units. The album follows the band's first two top 10s, "Signed and Sealed in Blood" and "Going Out in Style". The former peaked at No. 9 in 2013, while the latter debuted at No. 6 in 2011.

Rounding out the new top 10 are Post Malone's "Stoney", which returns to the top 10 at No. 9 with 23,000 units, and Chris Stapleton's debut album "Traveller", which vaults from No. 22 to No. 10 with 22,000 units. The rise of Stapleton's album follows the success of a viral video on Facebook, where a father sings along to the country singer's cover of "Tennessee Whiskey" in his car while his daughter records the performance.
