The Weeknd reportedly can't forget his ex-girlfriend Bella Hadid despite his new romance with Selena Gomez. The "Starboy" hitmaker and the "Hands to Myself" songstress' new relationship was revealed on Wednesday, January 11 after their kissing photos emerged online. Bella has since unfollowed Selena on Instagram.

"The Weeknd still has feelings for Bella because she knows him as the performer AND as Abel - not many people do," a source tells HollywoodLife.com, "She understood him in a very unique way, and the more popular he becomes, that's something that can't really happen anymore. Now that kind of special relationship will never be a thing again, and that's the problem."

The source adds, "He's trying to move on and Selena is certainly at the right place at the right time. He doesn't want to hurt her so he's taking things very, very slow. He doesn't want to lead her on and use her because he still has feelings for Bella."

According to another insider, Selena is totally smitten with The Weeknd. "Selena gets passionate about things real fast and that is exactly what she is doing with The Weeknd," says the insider, "She finds him charming and is enamored by the person he is and the way he presents himself to her. She is falling hard for him, though he is taking things slowly. It is at the stage where it could flourish or end just as fast as it started."
