Marc Anthony and his wife Shannon de Lima responded to their breakup rumors. The 48-year-old singer and the 28-year-old model confirmed that they decided to part ways after two years of marriage.
"After much consideration, we have mutually and amicably decided to end our two year marriage. We ask for privacy during this difficult process, and no further comments will be made from either one of us about this personal matter," the couple said in a joint statement.
Anthony's hectic schedule was reportedly to blame for their split. "Marc is so busy with his career, touring and recording that he distances himself from his relationships without even knowing it," an insider told PEOPLE. "Even with his wife in tow, she can feel like he is on another planet."
Before marrying Shannon de Lima, Marc Anthony was first married to Miss Universe Dayanara Torres and then to singer Jennifer Lopez. He has two sons from his first marriage and twin children from his second one.
