Ryan Reynolds is the Best Actor in Comedy, according to Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA). The actor nabbed the honor at the 22nd Annual Critics' Choice Awards which is happening now on Santa Monica Airport's Barker Hangar. Reynolds won the trophy for his role as the titular anti-hero in "Deadpool", edging out the likes of Ryan Gosling ("The Nice Guys") and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson ("Central Intelligence").

The father of two also received Entertainment Weekly's Entertainer of the Year Award, which was announced last week. He first thanked the "Deadpool" crew as saying, "My god, okay. I've got to start by thanking the entire 'Deadpool' team, without whom I would not be standing up here."

He then dedicated the award to children with cancer since his character also had cancer. "They didn't lose a battle, but they started a fight and it's up to finish us," he said onstage. He added, "I also want to thank my wife. And for no reason at all, I suppose my children."

Reynolds was also nominated for Best Actor in an Action Movie for the same role, but he lost the title to Andrew Garfield ("Hacksaw Ridge"). Meryl Streep was named Best Actress in a Comedy for her role in "Florence Foster Jenkins", while "Suicide Squad" star Margot Robbie nabbed the Best Actress award in action movie category.

Other movie winners at the ongoing ceremony include "Moonlight", "La La Land" and "Manchester by the Sea". The show is also presenting awards for the best in TV, with Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Best Guest Performer in a Drama Series - "The Walking Dead") and Alec Baldwin (Best Guest Performer in a Comedy Series - "Saturday Night Live") among the winners which have been announced so far.

The full winner list will be revealed shortly.
