Following the success of the fifth 'Bourne' movie, producer Frank Marshall says that a sequel is on the table, with Matt Damon reprising his role as the titular former assassin.

AceShowbiz - This year's "Jason Bourne" successfully raked in $415 million at worldwide box office, even though it received mixed reviews. With its massive gross, producer Frank Marshall is apparently gearing up to develop a sequel, with Matt Damon reprising his role as the titular former assassin and Paul Greengrass returning to the helmer chair.

In a recent interview with Yahoo! Movies, Marshall said that he had spoken to both Damon and Greengrass about the potential sequel. "Obviously they're very pleased with how the movie turned out," he revealed. "It's really about the story, just like on this one, everyone said 'if you come to us with a good story, we'll think about it.' "

"So right now, we're taking a pause and then we're going to dive back in and try to find a story," the producer added. "We did leave it wide open at the end of the movie to continue on in Bourne's world so we'll see what we can come up with."

He went on to explain how the story would be explored in the next movie, as lead actor Damon is getting older. "He's not always going to be the Jason Bourne that he was 15 years ago, but there are a lot of other things he could be doing in that world, so I think that's what's going to be exciting for us to try and explore," he said.

When asked if fans could see another Jeremy Renner-starring movie after "The Bourne Legacy" or a team-up film with Damon and Renner, Marshall responded, "Probably not. I don't know. That story is still out there as well but it's not... we're not talking about it."
