The 'Sucker for Pain' hitmaker also teases 'a whole bunch of good news coming soon.'

AceShowbiz -

Lil Wayne announces a new project called "Funeral". During an appearance at "The Nine Club" podcast, the "Sucker for Pain" hitmaker says that he plans to release his new music in the near future despite his legal battle against Birdman and Cash Money Records over "Tha Carter V".

"Just make sure they know that Funeral is coming soon," Weezy says toward the end of his interview. When asked what "Funeral" is, the "Mirror" rapper replies, "That's my music." He adds, "I have a whole bunch of good news coming soon. If you are a Wayne fan, I know we been going through tough times right now, but if you're a Wayne fan, we 'bout to hold our heads high."

While the project doesn't have a release date yet, it will mark Weezy's first release since 2015's "Free Weezy Album".

The announcement comes after Weezy canceled an appearance at the SummerFall concert in Curacao. While the promoters behind the show said the rapper suffered seizure prior to his scheduled performance, his rep said that the cancellation was due to "a breach of contract."
