The script for DC's upcoming superhero flick is reportedly in a total mess and the studio doesn't bother to fix it, saying that they 'don't really care' about it.

AceShowbiz - While Jeremy Irons previously confirmed that filming on "The Batman" would begin in summer of 2017, a new report has emerged suggesting that the movie is facing a major roadblock. The Ringer was the first to report that the script for Ben Affleck's upcoming solo movie is in a total mess.

The site published a recent expose about the current state of Hollywood's movie industry, including Affleck's upcoming movie. In the essay, "American Psycho" author Bret Easton Ellis revealed he heard from the executives of the DC movie that the script had "serious troubles" and Warner Bros. didn't even care.

"I was having dinner with a couple of executives who know other executives who are working on the [forthcoming] Batman movie, 'The Batman'. And they were just telling me that there are serious problems with the script," Ellis allegedly said.

"And that the executives I was having dinner with were complaining about people who work on the Batman movie," he continued. "And they just said they went to the studio and they said, 'Look, the script is... Here's 30 things that are wrong with it that we can fix.' "

The author added, "And [the executives] said, 'We don't care. We don't really care. The amount of money we're going to make globally, I mean 70 percent of our audience is not going to be seeing this in English. And it doesn't really matter, these things that you're bringing up about the flaws of the script.' "

However, just because the script is a mess and the studio allegedly don't want to fix it, that doesn't mean the movie is also in trouble. As "The Batman" hasn't set a release date, there's still time for Affleck to fix it with his team. Furthermore, Umberto Gonzalez of TheWrap took to Twitter to say that the report is not true.
