Miley Cyrus stole the show after an on-stage slip-up during a performance at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, October 23. She performed in honor of Bill Murray who received the 19th Annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.

During her performance of "My Way", Miley forgot the lyrics and riddled the rest of her performance with expletives. She made an excuse about smoking too much following her flub. "I got too stoned," she told the audience, "I smoked too much and forgot."

Fortunately, Bill quickly came to her rescue. He laughed off the flub and shouted from his seat in the balcony, "This is happening right now in Washington D.C., the 51st state in the union." The "Ghostbusters" actor then suggested Miley for a second attempt at the song. The former "Hannah Montana" star returned to the stage and performed the song without messing up the words.

Bill was also honored by David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel, Aziz Ansari, Sigourney Weaver and Steve Martin.

The event will be broadcast on Friday, October 28 on PBS.
