The former Governor of California says that for the first time he 'will not vote for the Republican candidate for President.'

AceShowbiz - Arnold Schwarzenegger won't vote for Donald Trump although he's a Republican supporter. The former Governor of California joins other GOP politicians like John McCain, John Kasich and Carly Fiorina to denounce the real estate mogul.

"For the first time since I became a citizen in 1983, I will not vote for the Republican candidate for President," said the 69-year-old actor-turned-politician who is taking over the vacant seat left by Trump on "The Celebrity Apprentice".

"Like many Americans, I've been conflicted by this election - I still haven't made up my mind about how exactly I will vote next month. I have been a proud Republican since I moved to America in 1968 and I heard Nixon's words about getting the government off our backs, free trade, and defending our liberty with a strong military."

"That day I joined the party of Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, and Ronald Reagan," he added. "But as proud as I am to label myself a Republican, there is one label that I hold above all else - American. So I want to take a moment today to remind my fellow Republicans that it is not only acceptable to choose your country over your party - it is your duty."

Donald Trump caused meltdown among republicans after a decade-old tape was leaked revealing his lewd comments about women. In a chat with Billy Bush, he talked about making a move on a married woman later identified as Nancy O'Dell. "Grab them by the p***y," he said. "You can do anything."

O'Dell responded, "Politics aside, I'm saddened that these comments still exist in our society at all. When I heard the comments yesterday, it was disappointing to hear such objectification of women. The conversation needs to change because no female, no person, should be the subject of such crass comments, whether or not cameras are rolling."

She continued, "Everyone deserves respect no matter the setting or gender. As a woman who has worked very hard to establish her career, and as a mom, I feel I must speak out with the hope that as a society we will always strive to be better."

Donald Trump has since apologized, but it seemed to fall on deaf ears. Many influential Republican figures asked him to step down following the scandal, but the presidential candidate persisted. "I'd never withdraw. I've never withdrawn in my life," he said in a phone call with The Washington Post. "They're not going to make me quit, and they can't make me quit. The Republicans, you've got to remember, have been running for a long time. The reason they don't win is because they don't stick together."

The Republicans are hoping Trump's running mate Mike Pence will replace him in the presidential election. Pence hasn't responded to the Republicans' change of heart but he did react to Trump's offensive comments, "I do not condone his remarks and cannot defend them. I am grateful that he has expressed remorse and apologized to the American people. We pray for his family and look forward to the opportunity he has to show what is in his heart when he goes before the nation tomorrow night."
