The Chrysler dealership where Anton Yelchin bought the car that killed him refuses to be held responsible for his death. The Valencia, CA dealership, which is among those sued by the late star's parents, has filed its response to the wrongful death lawsuit brought by the Yelchins.
In the documents, according to TMZ, the company blames Yelchin for the fatal accident that happened to himself back in June as they accuse him of damaging the Jeep Grand Cherokee by making some changes to it.
They state that the "Star Trek Beyond" actor's own "misuse, misapplication, or damage" of the vehicle caused the 5,000 pound car to roll backward his driveway and pin him against the gate of his Studio City, California home.
Yelchin died at the age of 27. Prior to the accident, carmaker Fiat Chrysler had recalled the car following complaints that the gear shifters confused drivers, making them think their car is in park while it's actually in neutral. Yelchin's parents, who believe that the issue was what caused their son's death, is suing the dealership as well as Fiat Chrysler and manufacturer ZF North America.
