The actress/author and former Scientologist is developing a reality TV series revolving around the church created by L. Ron Hubbard.

AceShowbiz - Leah Remini is taking on Scientology again. After releasing memoir "Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology" about the inner workings of Scientology and church leadership, she is teaming up with A&E for a new reality series about the church.

The network has not commented on the report, but sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that the series will detail the former "The Talk" co-host's experience with Scientology and her departure in 2013. It will also highlight the families of other church members.

The series has reportedly been filmed over the course of the summer for an expected premiere in early 2017. Remini, Eli Holzman and partner Aaron Saidman are producing under their IPC (The Intellectual Property Corporation) shingle.

Reports about the project emerged back in June when Scientology chronicler Tony Ortega claimed that Remini was planning a series that highlights how Scientology "rips families apart," but there was no network attached at that time.

Scientology previously released a statement denying all of Remini's allegations against the church as stated in her book. "Leah Remini knows the truth she conveniently rewrites in her revisionist history," read the statement. "The real story is that she desperately tried to remain a Scientologist in 2013, knowing full well she was on the verge of being expelled for refusing to abide by the high level of ethics and decency Scientologists are expected to maintain."
