Ahead of the first "Fast and Furious 8" trailer release in December, a new tidbit about the return of Paul Walker's character for more "Fast and Furious" films has surfaced. The late star's brothers, Caleb and Cody, recently told Entertainment Tonight that Brian O'Conner could be making a return for future "Fast and Furious" movies.

"I had a phone call with [Vin Diesel] for about an hour and we really discussed this a while back. He wanted [our] blessing," Caleb said, adding that Vin asked if and when they thought it "would be acceptable to maybe bring Paul's character back... to really kind of let his fans know he's still out there." Cody added, "Universal wants to make sure to be respectful of Paul and his image too, and his family."

Paul died in a car accident in November 2013. His brothers stepped in to help finish some of Paul's action scenes in his final film "Furious 7", which was released last year. Caleb said that the experience on the filming set helped them "understand more about Paul, and what he was about."

He continued, "We'd see him on set, we visited a few times, but to kind of get that closure, and understanding [of] Paul was really special." Of working with his brother's co-stars, he said that he and Cody learned more than they expected about their famous sibling, and heard "some really cool stories about him" that they never knew.

The eighth installment of the "Fast and Furious" movie series stars Vin, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Charlize Theron, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Elsa Pataky, Ludacris, Jason Statham, Nathalie Emmanuel, Helen Mirren and Kurt Russell. Lucas Black will reprise his role as Sean Boswell from "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift".

Directed by F. Gary Gray, "Fast and Furious 8" was filmed in several countries, including Cuba and Iceland. The film will race into U.S. theaters on April 14, 2017. It will be followed by a ninth film which is due out April 19, 2019 and a tenth film which is scheduled for an April 2, 2021 release.
