Early 'X-Men: Apocalypse' Concept Art Sees Elle Fanning as Jean Grey

The early concept art drawn by Allan Villanueva for the Bryan Singer-directed movie features 'The Neon Demon' actress as the character.

AceShowbiz - Before "Game of Thrones" star %cSophie Turner% took the role of young Jean Grey in "X-Men: Apocalypse", several actresses including %cChloe Moretz%, %cHailee Steinfeld% and %cElle Fanning% were lined up for the part. An early concept art for the Bryan Singer-directed film which has landed online seems to confirm that Fanning was being considered to take the role of the powerful mutant.

Posted on Twitter by Greg Hopwood on Sunday, September 4, the early artwork drawn by artist Allan Villanueva shows the initial concept of Jean Grey, with "The Neon Demon" actress as the character. The alternate design for the suit closely resembles the blue-and-gold costume legendary artist Jim Lee illustrated for the powerful telekinetic mutant in 1990's "X-Men" comic book series.

Additionally, Hopwood shares an unused concept art of Storm, which is played by %cAlexandra Shipp% in the follow-up to "X-Men: Days of Future Past". The image features young Ororo Munroe sporting a different costume.

Also starring %cJames McAvoy%, %cMichael Fassbender%, %cJennifer Lawrence%, %cOscar Isaac%, %cNicholas Hoult%, %cRose Byrne%, %cTye Sheridan% and %cEvan Peters%, "X-Men: Apocalypse" will be available on Digital HD on September 9 and on Blu-ray, 4K Ultra HD, and DVD on October 4.
