Mariah Carey is finally coming to "Empire" in a freshly-released promo for season 3. The R&B diva plays a singer named Kitty, a mega-superstar who comes to Empire to collaborate with Jamal Lyon (Jussie Smollett) on an explosive new song.
In the sneak peek, Kitty and Jamal are seen hitting the studio together, recording their duet. "You've always got a trick up your sleeve," Kitty, clad in a cleavage-baring dress, tells Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) in another scene.
Meanwhile, the Lions face a new threat in the form of Lucious' (Terrence Howard) half-brother Tariq (Morocco Omari). He tells Cookie that things are going to get ugly, adding, "I will come after you and your kids," as Andre (Trai Byers) is seen being arrested by police on the street and Tariq is hitting someone in the studio.
"Empire" season 3 premieres Wednesday, September 21 at 9 P.M. ET on FOX. The new season also features the return of Shine (Xzibit), as well as Taye Diggs and rapper French Montana as guest stars.
