"Empire" is enlisting two real rappers as guest stars in its upcoming season 3. French Montana and Birdman are set to appear in the season premiere, which is scheduled to air Wednesday, September 21 at 9 P.M. ET on FOX.

"Pop That" rapper Montana will play music mogul Vaughn, a member of Lucious Lyon's powerful inner circle, EW reports. As for Cash Money co-founder Birdman, he will appear as himself on the FOX music drama.

Series co-creator Lee Daniels has teased the two rappers' appearance by posting on Instagram their picture on the set. Birdman also took to his own Instagram account to share photos of him and Montana hanging out with lead actor Terrence Howard.

The second season of "Empire" ended with a cliffhanger as Rhonda and Anika fought on the edge of a balcony and one of them was apparently falling. In May, showrunner Ilene Chaiken confirmed that one person would die, but she wouldn't reveal who's dead.

"All we have to go on right now is the sound of that scream and the look on Andre's face - and that, to me, says somebody went over that railing. And it would be ludicrous to say that would be a survivable fall!" she said with a laugh.
