'Legends of Tomorrow' Adds Vixen for Season 2, but It's a New Face
TV

Megalyn E.K., who voices the character on the CW Seed animated series and has guest starred on 'Arrow', will not be able to reprise the role on 'DC's Legends of Tomorrow'.

AceShowbiz -

Following the departure of Kendra Saunders a.k.a. Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee), "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" is adding another superhero to fill the void. Vixen will be joining the band in the upcoming second season of the CW series.

However, there's a twist. According to TV Insider which first reported the news, Megalyn E.K. a.k.a. Megalyn Echikunwoke who has guest starred as the character on "Arrow" won't reprise the role on "Legends of Tomorrow" due to her commitments to other projects.

So instead of recasting the fan favorite, the show will introduce a new Vixen, who is actually an old version. Thanks to the time-travel storyline, we're going to see an earlier version of the character before E.K.'s Mari McCabe took up the mantle.

E.K. will still voice the character on the CW Seed animated series, "Vixen", and the door is open for her to return on any of the DC shows should her schedule allow.

As fans have known, Vixen is a street smart model who inherits her family's Tantu Totem that allows her to access the powers of animals. There's still no word on who will play the old version of Vixen on "Legends" as casting is still underway.
