The role which will be played by the 78-year-old actor is still under wraps. Hours before his casting was announced, a cryptic message about "Cybertron's newest knight already has an armor of gold ... #transformers" was sent out on Twitter.

Michael Bay returns as a director, Mark Wahlberg is back as the main hero, Josh Duhamel as Lieutenant Colonel William Lennox and Peter Cullen as the voice of Optimus Prime. On top of that, the fallen Decepticon leader, Megatron, will be revived for this movie.

The flick is due to hit theaters across the nation on June 23, 2017. Other new additions to the cast ensemble include Isabela Moner and Jerrod Carmichael.
